Intrusions & Hazards

Intrusions

Bank Accounts

Most banks use the same encryption, so firewalls shouldn’t stop you. Roll 1d10000:

Roll Result
0 – 5,000 Fail
5,001 – 7,000 Success, unsecure line
7,001+ Success, secure line

A secure line keeps less experienced Net Runners out of your intrusion.

Then: ping the account owner with how much you’re stealing. They must transfer it. Big amounts might mean retaliation.

Corporate Documents

Attack a corporation’s net and breach several firewalls.

  • Each firewall gives you 3 rolls. The thresholds are set when you start.
  • Fail 3 times: locked out for 2 RPs.
  • Failed breaches can alert anti-Net Running systems or guard Net Runners.

Get in and you can access their unsecured documents and files. Try to make a profit.

Hazards

Viruses

Malicious neural code that attacks your system. Most are easy to spot, but they slowly damage your neural net until you flatline.

You can’t remove them yourself. Get scanned and cleaned at a Ripperdoc.

Hostile Net Runners

Likely to show up whether you’re hacking or just roaming. They try to siphon your info.

Attacker To deflect
Regular 1d100 ×3, 80+ on 2 rolls
Corpo 1d100 ×3, 90+ on all 3

You can be the hostile one too. Against another OC/Canon holder, you both roll 1d100 and highest wins.
